How It Works
UA Yuma is a regional campus for the University of Arizona, serving Yuma County, La Paz County and Imperial County.
At the undergraduate level, UA Yuma serves as partner with many institutions, including Arizona Western College and Imperial Valley College, to transition students into a bachelors degree program with the University of Arizona.
At the graduate studies level, UA Yuma offers full and comprehensive programs at the local UA Yuma campus to help students achieve their masters degree.
UA Yuma offers over 16 transfer degree pathways in a 2+2 format, allowing students in the Yuma area to complete the first two years of their Bachelor’s degree at local community colleges, then transfer to UA Yuma for the second two years, completing an Associate’s degree along the way! Innovative teaching technologies and local faculty members allow you to earn a high quality, respected UA degree program without having to travel to Tucson.
UA Yuma’s longest partnership, at over 8 years, has been with Arizona Western College (AWC). Other partnerships, such as with Imperial Valley College and others, will require working collaboratively with a transfer advisor at your current educational institution in coordination with a UA advisor or recruiter.
ARIZONA WESTERN COLLEGE TO UA YUMA
The UA Bridge program provides guaranteed admission into most UA undergraduate degree programs. Once you sign up for the program, a dedicated UA transfer staff member will contact you. In addition, students are given access to a CatCard, UA email accounts, and other resources, including a UA Transfer Peer Mentor to facilitate the process.
AzTAP Agreements are available for specific degree pathways. By signing this agreement, AWC and UA may collaborate with student data and information to make sure students receive notifications to exclusive transfer events. See your AWC Transfer Counselor for more information.
Reverse transfer is also available to assist you to complete your Associates degree at AWC at the same time as your Bachelor’s degree with UA Yuma.
Participation in these programs enhances the transfer experience and provides students with the opportunity of obtaining additional scholarships.
IMPERIAL VALLEY COLLEGE AND OTHER PARTNER SCHOOLS
Please work collaboratively with a transfer advisor at your current educational institution in coordination with a UA advisor or recruiter to learn more about applying to the UA, transferrable credits into UA’s specific degree programs and how to obtain financial aid.
